PRIVACY POLICY
East Texas Automotive Enthusiasts Forums (texas-racing.com), takes your privacy seriously. At no time will any member information ever be passed or sold on to another party except where necessary to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
We invite you to read our privacy policy below and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Scope of this policy
This privacy policy relates solely to the Texas-Racing.com web site and forums. It does not cover any other site you may find links to, or which are used by Texas-Racing.com to provide specific services.
Children on this site
U.S. law requires that Web sites may not collect information of any kind, including an e-mail address, from children under 13 years of age without their parent's consent. This web site takes measures to restrict membership to persons 13 years and older.
Texas-Racing.com can not be held responsible for any user who fraudulently provides false information about their age, in order to gain access to this site.
Logged Activity
Whenever you request a page through your browser data such as your IP address, browser and version, OS, date and time and the site from which you came are stored in a log file for statistical analysis. This information is never passed on or used in any other way.
When posting in our forums, your current IP address is recorded against your post and is viewable by the administration team. Certain actions within the forums, such as editing and deleting posts are also recorded in a Moderators log file which can be viewed by the admin. This records your user name, IP address, a brief description of the action and the time it happened. This is a standard security practice amongst many forum and community web sites and is only ever used at Texas-Racing.com to investigate suspicious accounts and activities within the forums.
Passwords
Passwords are encrypted in the site database. They cannot be retrieved by anyone. It is your responsibility to keep your password safe. If you forget your password you can request a new one to be sent to you.
Email
Texas-Racing.com requires that you maintain a valid email address in your profile at all times for the purpose of validating and distinguishing active and dead accounts. Your email address is not visible in your profile and at no time will we ever sell or pass on your email address to any third party.
From time to time administrators may wish to send out email notices. You may opt out of these notices via the user control panel at any time, however in the case of important “service” messages such as system updates or account validation messages, the admin may choose to override this option.
If you choose to send an email to another member, your email address will be visible to the member when they read the email.
Personal information
We will never intentionally make your profile or account settings available to non-members. Unless otherwise stated, only registered members have access to any of your profile details.

If you take issue with a Member's position, by all means speak your mind. If you have a problem with a Member's religion, creed, national origin, sex, politics, associations or personal hygiene, take it to e-mail.
As we can never convey a philosophy through a few rules, we reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to edit or delete posts and/or to revoke Membership.
Posting guidelines
Many of us learn in grammar school about "free speech" and "freedom of expression", a concept stemming from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Unfortunately, most people have never read the first amendment and fewer still understand how it applies to our rights. In a nutshell, the first amendment prohibits the US government from passing laws restricting our right to free speech. It does not restrict an organization or business from enacting and enforcing standards.
We believe in freedom of expression, the first amendment, and all that. However we are not providing the forum for that freedom. We have rules. They must be honored. If you can not accept it, please do not register.
All posts must be civil and friendly unless in the appropriate forum.
All posts must have some point to them and some value.
This is not a soapbox. You can't say whatever you like.
Stupid, pointless topics will be deleted.
Moderators have a free reign here. If they don't like it, it's toast.
Repeat offenders will be banned.
No fundraising or advertising.
No cross posting.
Please note that advertisements, (such as auctions, sales, fundraising efforts, promoting your business in your signature, etc.), chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on Texas-Racing.com.
No reposting of copyrighted pictures or articles. Its fine to link to the original article, but it is illegal to copy the entire article into a post.
Signatures
NO advertising in your signature unless you are a paying forum sponsor, vendor, etc.
Advertising Policy
Advertising (including auctions, sales, fundraising efforts, promoting your business in your signature, etc.) is strictly prohibited unless otherwise approved by an administrator.
Individuals who have items to sell may not do so on the forum. Ads may be posted in our classified section.
You may not reference your automotive related business or URL in your signature, user profile, or your username unless you are a forum sponsor.
